Parents

What can you expect?

Parents, I am sure as you read through our website some questions come to mind.  Hopefully we can answer a lot of them right now and if not, please drop us a line.

#1 Safety

First and foremost Truth in Nature is very safety conscience.  We look out for the safety of your child just like they are one of our own.  ALL of our volunteers are background checked for criminal history before they can participate in our single parent child programs.  Most of our volunteers are pastors or personal friends but all have sound relationships with Christ and values.

As you probably noticed our hunting programs involve firearms.  Before each and every event that involves firearms we have a safety overview and/or target shoot.  No child is ever forced to participle should they decide they would rather not at that moment.  All of the safety overview is led by Jeff Davis, president of Truth in Nature.  Our hunting volunteers are men/women with years of experience handling a firearm and no child is ever allowed to hunt alone without a volunteer right beside them at ALL times, NO EXCEPTIONS.

On our events that involve boating or lake swimming we require that ALL children wear life vests.

Safety is taken very seriously and any child not abiding by all of our safety rules will not be allowed to participle and could be forced to leave the program.

For more detailed information on our safety procedures please contact us.

#2 Atmosphere

Truth in Nature is a Christian organization as I am sure you know by now.  While your child is attending one of our programs they will be mentored and taught how to live and walk the Christian life.  They can expect to participate in camp fire devotionals, prayer time, and other spiritual time as we enjoy God's outdoors.

You can expect your child to get away from the everyday peer pressures, video games, internet, TV, etc. and come out and relax and enjoy what God has to offer us in the outdoors.  During our programs they will learn team work, build character, and self-esteem.  They will also develop friendships that will last a life time both, with other children and the volunteers.  We offer a harm free environment where everyone's opinion is welcome, so they can come and be themselves.

#3 To Get Your Child Involved

To get your child registered for any of our programs it is very simple.  We have one form that covers all of our events throughout the year.  It is an annual liability form.  Once we have that in our possession for your child they are free to attend as many programs that they would like during that calendar year.  The form is located by clicking the link below.  If your child is a brand new participant and this is his/her first program please take a minute to also fill out and submit the "New Participant Questionnaire" below.

We will open registration about a month out for every program.  After we have your form the only thing you need to do is reply to the email and state that you are registering your child.  About a week or so before the actual event you will receive another email with all the details.

For most of our programs there is no charge for your child to attend, however in some rare cases we could require a small registration fee.  All equipment for each program is provided by Truth in Nature.  No outside equipment is allowed without permission from Jeff Davis.

In addition we have plenty of parent references from youth that have been in our programs before.  We would be glad to provide you with that contact information should you wish.
